Are Engagement Rings Necessary?

Getting married is a decision that is not simple and easy to make. It's not like choosing which car to buy, nor finding a place where to build your dream house. Marrying someone is a lifetime commitment that one shouldn't take it lightly. You can buy a car now then sell it the next day; your house will depreciate and get old no matter how well to take care of it.

When you finally decided to get married, make sure that you are a hundred percent sure of that. Is that really the person that you want to spend your lifetime with? Your marriage certificate may get torn into pieces, but that doesn't end nor voids your wedding. Simply put, once you get married, there's no turning back. If you do, then you will just add to the growing population of divorced couples.

Before the wedding, you actually have to propose first. Engagement rings are known to be the star of every marriage proposal. Engagement rings are normally expensive, as most of them have diamonds and other precious gems set on them. So for groom to be, take note that this is just the beginning of your financial stress, as after this, comes the wedding expenses, the honeymoon expenses, and so many others.

After all the wedding jitters and expenditures, expect to have significant financial adjustments as you will now have to allocate enough budget for your new family. You have to allot some money for your food, water, electricity, gas, children's allowance and education, and many others.

Some people do not really need engagement rings at all. In fact, the average Joe will not find it necessary to throw an engagement party or sort of like that. It can be that they're just being practical, or they simply cannot afford to do so. Either way, we shouldn't really be blinded by the material things, as these are all temporary. True love cannot be overpowered by any material things like golds and diamonds; and that a cheap ring cannot reduce or in any way devalue your love -if it's for real and sincere indeed.

For people who want to express their love through diamond engagement rings, there is really nothing wrong with that. They just have to make sure that together with that ring is a promise of endless love, sincerity, respect and loyalty.
